WSMDRC

Is an association or Organisation where vulnerable and impoverished communities have an opportunity to have some of their basic needs met. It is helping people of the local communities in DR Congo to acquire tools to improve their lives and to help them become self-reliant, without jeopardizing and wasting resources. The community appreciates the access to resources given to them for integral and comprehensive development.

We partnership and collaboration; we provide capacity building programs, through new and unique ways that are responsive to needs of the local people.

HISTORY

World Service of Mercy (WSM) was created in November 1998 during the second war of liberation in the D.R. Congo, and was a product of SADERAF (Service d'aide Au developpement des Eglises de Reveil en Afrique) which is an international organization that deals with the development of churches in Africa. World Service of Mercy (WSM) means having mercy, compassion, love and sacrifice as you serve others.
It reached a time when SADERAF could not meet the needs of the victims of the war adequately. Therefore, a group of members from SADERAF sat together and started an organization whose main aim was to help the victims in various ways such as Enviroment, Social, Health, Education issues, etc
WSM was created by a group of members: Nzapa Sape Robert, Tshimema Bedi, Adhiambo Jeanine and Nenette Makoba.
WSM has one of its main objectives to maintain the ecosystem of the globe in its original status, other objetives involves reaching the poor populations both nationally and internationally enabling them to become self reliant socially, economically and politically.

OUR MISSION

WSMDRC's mission is to sustainably help, improve living conditions and reduce the poverty of the local communities, through development projects, transferring scientific and technical knowledge. In addition, promote and support community development initiatives in situations of extreme vulnerability and improve the health conditions of this population.

We focus our efforts on vulnerable people in the Democratic Republic of Congo especially women, youth and children in need. We do this by promoting equality and increasing the opportunity for all to improve the lives of the local people.

OUR VISION

At World Service of Mercy DR Congo (WSMDRC), we focus on helping vulnerable people in need right where they are. We understand that people need to be helped both physically and emotionally. In DRCongo over 1,000 people die every day as a result of the conflict and a big number of women and girls have been subjected to sexual abuse.
In DR Congo the need is felt, Women, Youth, and children constitute a large percentage of victims of war in the country.
We are focusing on Community development areas:

  • Microfinance Projects
  • Education
  • Health
